Hire an AI Trainer in Malaysia: Programmes, Formats and Credentials (2026)

Hire an AI trainer in Malaysia delivering a corporate AI training programme to a team

To hire an AI trainer in Malaysia, you need three things: a trainer with verifiable AI expertise, HRD Corp certification if you intend to claim the levy, and a programme built around your team’s actual work rather than generic slides. Most Malaysian organisations engage a trainer for a one to three day in-house programme, delivered onsite, online or hybrid, scoped to a specific audience such as corporate teams, executives, educators or public-sector staff.

I am Dr Muhamad Hariz Bin Muhamad Adnan, a Doctor in Artificial Intelligence, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Computing and Meta-Technology, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), and an HRD Corp-certified AI trainer. My work focuses on AI-driven digital transformation in education and the workplace. This page sets out the programmes I deliver, the formats available, and how to engage me.

Programme catalogue

My programmes are grouped into four tracks by audience. Each links to a detailed guide if you want to read further before enquiring.

1. Corporate and workplace AI training

For companies upskilling employees on practical, day-to-day use of AI tools. Suitable for non-technical staff across operations, marketing, HR, finance and customer service.

2. Executive and leadership AI briefings

For boards, C-suite and senior management who need to make investment, governance and policy decisions rather than operate the tools themselves.

3. Education and academic AI training

For schools, universities, faculties and education departments. This is my core research area as a Senior Lecturer at UPSI.

4. Public sector and SME programmes

For government agencies and smaller organisations with tighter budgets and specific funding routes.

Delivery formats

  • In-house onsite — delivered at your premises, built around your own documents and workflows. The most common format.
  • Online and hybrid — for organisations with staff split across branches or states.
  • Keynote or briefing — shorter conference or town-hall sessions for large audiences.
  • Consultancy engagement — advisory work on AI adoption strategy rather than classroom training.

Programmes are typically scoped from foundation level for teams with no prior exposure through to applied and advanced sessions for staff already using AI tools informally.

Credentials to check before you hire any AI trainer

Whether or not you engage me, these are the checks worth running on any provider in the Malaysian market:

  • Verifiable AI expertise — an actual qualification or research record in artificial intelligence, not a general IT or soft-skills background. Mine is a doctorate in AI and an ongoing academic post at UPSI.
  • HRD Corp certification — required if you intend to structure the programme as claimable against your levy.
  • Ability to teach non-technical staff — technical depth is worthless if participants are lost by mid-morning.
  • Customisation — will the trainer build the session around your work, or deliver a fixed deck?
  • Governance literacy — a trainer who covers only tools, and never data risk or verification, leaves you exposed.

My full buyer-side guidance is in how to choose an AI trainer in Malaysia and how to choose the right AI training provider.

HRD Corp claimability

HRD Corp (Human Resource Development Corporation) administers the levy paid by registered Malaysian employers, which can be claimed back against approved training. As an HRD Corp-certified AI trainer, I can structure programmes to be claimable for eligible employers, subject to your registration status and current scheme requirements. The mechanics are explained in my HRD Corp claimable AI training guide, and typical budget ranges in how much corporate AI training costs in Malaysia.

How to engage me

  1. Enquire with your audience, team size, location and rough timing.
  2. Scoping call to establish current AI maturity, the roles involved and what success looks like.
  3. Proposal covering programme outline, duration, format and claimability route.
  4. Customisation using your own documents, workflows or teaching materials.
  5. Delivery, followed by rollout guidance so the training holds after the session ends.

Frequently asked questions

How do I hire an AI trainer in Malaysia?

Define the audience and outcome first, then verify the trainer’s AI credentials and HRD Corp status, then ask for a customised proposal rather than a standard course brochure. You can contact me directly to start that process.

What qualifications should an AI trainer have?

Look for a genuine qualification or research record in artificial intelligence, plus HRD Corp certification if claimability matters. A doctorate or active academic post in AI is a strong signal that the trainer understands the technology rather than only the tools built on top of it.

Can one trainer cover both corporate and education audiences?

Some can, but few do both well. My own practice deliberately spans workplace and education because my research focus is AI-driven digital transformation across both, which is why the programme tracks above cover companies, executives, schools, universities and government agencies.

Do you deliver outside Kuala Lumpur?

Yes. Programmes are delivered nationwide onsite, and online or hybrid where teams are distributed. See Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley and Penang and Johor for regional detail.

Is it better to hire an individual trainer or a training company?

A training company offers scale and scheduling depth across many subjects. An individual specialist offers direct access to the person who designed the programme, deeper subject expertise and easier customisation. For AI specifically, where the field moves quickly and generic material dates fast, subject depth usually matters more than catalogue breadth.
